A corporate governance specialist, lawyer and company director,  Virginia Hickey has extensive commercial, government and not-for-profit experience.

She is a highly regarded facilitator and educator, with an ability to demystify complex issues and communicate clearly

Using a combination of analytical skills and creative, strategic thinking, Virginia’s work involves raising the standards of corporate governance and board effectiveness through addressing such issues as group dynamics, decision making, governance structures and procedures.

Virginia’s work is informed by over 20 years of advising boards and management on governance matters, her personal experience as a director; and from her background as a partner of Finlaysons Lawyers. As a facilitator, she has worked at local, national and international levels.

Some of Virginia’s major projects include: Governance Advisor to the Learning Federation, a major initiative of the Ministers of Education of the Commonwealth, States and Territories to deliver on-line curriculum to schools over a five year period. She also conducted a governance review of the Adelaide Diocese of the Anglican Church and was the national and international facilitator in the Company Directors Course of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
