Using a combination of analytical skills and creative, strategic thinking, Virginia’s work involves raising the standards of corporate governance and board effectiveness through addressing such issues as group dynamics, decision making, governance structures and procedures.
Virginia’s work is informed by over 20 years of advising boards and management on governance matters, her personal experience as a director; and from her background as a partner of Finlaysons Lawyers. As a facilitator, she has worked at local, national and international levels.
Some of Virginia’s major projects include: Governance Advisor to the Le@rning Federation, a major initiative of the Ministers of Education of the Commonwealth, States and Territories to deliver on-line curriculum to schools over a five year period. She also conducted a governance review of the Adelaide Diocese of the Anglican Church and was the national and international facilitator in the Company Directors Course of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
Virginia is currently serving on the boards of TransAdelaide, the Medical Insurance Australia Group, the National Competition Council, Flinders Ports Pty Ltd and TransitPlus Pty Ltd.
Previously she was on the board of the University of South Australia Council, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the National Transport Commission and Playford Capital.
