Tony Auden

Meteorologist, Weather Presenter at 7 Network & MC

Tony Auden has been fascinated with weather since he was a kid.

He studied a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Meteorology and Mathematics at Monash University. He later gained employment with the Bureau of Meteorology and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Meteorology at the head office in Melbourne.

Tony gained most of his experience as a severe weather forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology, even naming a number of tropical cyclones in the process.

He has extensive experience in weather having covered Cyclone Yasi, The Gap’s severe thunderstorm in 2008, bushfires, floods, dangerous surf and tide events, dust storms and heat waves.

In December 2013, Tony joined 7NEWS Brisbane as weather presenter.

In his work with 7NEWS, Tony loves talking about his passion each day, and sharing his experiences with the next generation of aspiring meteorologists with school visits.

Tony is also an experienced professional MC.

Away from the weather, Tony loves getting out for a surf or round of golf.
