Sam Taunton is one the hottest young voices on the Australian comedy circuit. He is currently a co-host on Network 10’s The Project.
His captive storytelling and quick-fire punchlines have seen him emerge as one of the most in-demand acts in the country. Sam can be seen four nights a week as a co-host on The Project. He has also appeared on ABC2’s Comedy Up Late and on MTV and SBS, and you can hear him as a regular guest on Triple M, ABC Radio, HIIT Networks, NOVA and triple j. Sam is the co-host of the very popular podcast The Good Stuff, alongside Tom Cashman.
Sam has toured show after show, year after year since his first solo show Taunts Down For What was nominated for the prestigious Best Newcomer award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2017.
After winning the Pinder Prize at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, his 2019 solo show, Straight From The Shoulder charmed Australian audiences, selling out rooms around the country. Sam toured to critical acclaim throughout Asia and India culminating in a sell-out run at Edinburgh Fringe.
He performed the riotously funny show Rooster in 2020 and 2021 and his most recent solo show Yoho Diablo was also seen at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival with outstanding reviews in 2022.
Sam has performed at the Sydney Opera House as part of Just For Laughs, he’s also toured with the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow throughout Australia and has been a regular at Splendour In The Grass and the nationwide Falls Festival.
