Rod McGeoch AO
Outstanding Leader in Business, Law and Sports Administration
Rod McGeoch was a highly successful practicing attorney from 1970 to 1990 becoming the elected leader of his legal profession and then being honoured by the Australian Government with an Order of Australia for his contribution to law in the community.
He came to public prominence through his involvement with winning bid for the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and has become one of Australia’s most experienced board members and speaks extensively on business and leadership.
Rod McGeoch was the leader of Sydney’s successful Olympics 2000 bid. He is an Officer of the Order of Australia. He is also Chairman of Vantage Private Equity Growth Limited, Chairman of Chubb Insurance Australia Ltd, and Director of Corporacion America International S.A.R.L. He was appointed Chairman of Australia Media Co (AMC) in July 2020.
On 1 May 2024 Mr McGeoch was appointed as a Consultant to Big Screen Video Pty Ltd.
In January 2024 Mr McGeoch as appointed a Consultant to CAPTEC and Sydney Investor Professional & Business Networking Group Incorporated (SIPBN). In January 2024 Mr McGeoch was appointed as a Member of the Heritage Committee NSW. Mr McGeoch is a Director of Destination NSW.
Rod is a former Director of Destination NSW, Chairman of the Committee for Sydney and plays a leading role in a variety of cultural, community and welfare organisations. He was also President of the Law Society of New South Wales and former Director of Ramsay Health Care Limited.
He has published two best-selling books: McGeoch and The Bid.
