Noémie Fox

Olympic Canoe Slalom Athlete

Noémie Fox is an Olympic gold-winning canoe slalom athlete representing Australia on the world stage.

Born in France, Noémie moved to Australia at the age of two as both of her parents were involved in the Sydney 2000 Olympics as coaching staff.

Noémie started competing at the age of 14 and represented Australia at her first Junior World Championships in 2013 where she won gold in the Women’s Canoe team event.

Today Noémie competes across 3 disciplines: Kayak (K1W), Canoe (C1W) & Slalom Cross, and is currently ranked 5th in the world in Slalom Cross.

Last year, Noémie claimed the National and State Championship titles and was the Tokyo 2022 Olympic Reserve. At the 2022 World Cup in Poland, Noémie won Australia’s first World Cup medal (silver) in the new Paris 2024 Olympic Kayak Cross event and made her second World Championship final in the Canoe event. After qualifying for the Australian Olympic team, Noémie made her Olympic debut in Paris this year and became a gold medalist and Olympic champion winning the kayak cross final.

Outside of the boat, Noémie completed both a Bachelor of Arts (Media & Communications) and Master of Management at The University of Sydney and is now working as a Transformation Analyst for Accenture Australia. She is a strong advocate for breaking down barriers to sport for young people and has worked in partnership with Black Dog Mental Health Institute to deliver mental resilience workshops in schools.

In 2022, Noémie was also an ambassador for the Australian Institute of Sport’s program Thrive with Pride to increase the visibility and accessibility of LGBTIQ+ allies and to help build a culture of equality, understanding, and acceptance in the Australian sporting landscape.
