Marija Zivic is a highly experienced journalist who has worked on public and privately owned television and radio networks, reporting on local and international political events as well as current affairs. A highly polished Master of Ceremonies, Marija is much admired for her professional approach to undertaking research and preparation, her warm personality and her ability to smoothly manage events – even when the unforeseen occurs.
Marija’s extensive experience as a journalist has seen her work at national and state level to cover major news events for television, including four leadership spills in Canberra, the Australian tour of the US Vice President Mike Pence and the Lindt Café Siege. This has included live crosses and packages for major Australian television shows like Sunrise, Seven News, The Morning Show, The Daily Edition, SBS News and Small Business Secrets.
As a senior political reporter in Canberra for five years, she was a regularly contributor on the ABC’s popular political program Insiders as well as various ABC radio programs. She has also contributed to international news broadcasts including on the BBC, CNN and New Zealand’s TV3. Her experience has resulted in a long list of lasting professional connections within the media, political circles and the corporate sector.
Marija was born in Serbia and her parents migrated to Australia when she was just six months old. She speaks fluent Serbian and Italian, after completing part of her university degree in Milan.
