Prior to News Breakfast, Madeleine was a senior reporter for 7.30, where she reported on politics, finance and social affairs, and conducted complex investigations. As Development Reporter for the BBC she had a speciality in the economics, health and social issues affecting the developing world, and was awarded a bursary for a project to study HIV messaging in Uganda and Zambia. She won a prestigious One World Media Award for a documentary on India’s beleaguered micro-finance industry.
