Jimmy Smith
Former rugby league player and commentator
With a background of 11 years of professional rugby league, both in Australia and the UK, Jimmy Smith is uniquely placed to comment on the demands of the professional athlete in the modern era.
In 2007 Jimmy signed on as expert commentator for Triple M radio’s inaugural Monday Night NRL coverage.
Jimmy is also a regular panellist on The Sunday Footy Show on channel Nine.
He previously co-hosted 2SM’s Talkin’ Sport for three years.
Upon finishing school, Jimmy joined the Sydney Roosters as well as undertaking an Agricultural Economics degree at Sydney University. Jimmy later played for Western Suburbs and South Sydney in the NRL competition before rounding out his career with a stint at the English club, Salford.
Jimmy played over 150 first grade games in his Rugby League career. After hanging up his boots, Jimmy worked for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the role of media liaison officer.
