From Ironman legend to one of Australia’s leading wellbeing and longevity advocates, Guy Leech has dedicated his life to helping Australians live longer, stronger, and healthier. Today, he mentors individuals, runs national health and wellness events, delivers tailored longevity programs for over-50s, and hosts podcasts with world-class experts—arming every Australian with the tools to maximise their healthspan.
A household name in Australian sport, Guy dominated long-form Ironman racing for more than 15 years. Unbeaten in any race over two hours, he is the only athlete in Ironman history to maintain such a record. His rise began in front of 120,000 spectators at the 1984 Coolangatta Gold, where the then-unknown Manly athlete shocked the nation by winning the inaugural event—an endurance epic that stretched 46km along the Gold Coast.
Guy went on to win the World Ironman Championships in Vancouver (1986) and the World Ocean Paddling Championship in Hawaii (1994). He also captured national attention again by winning Australian Celebrity Survivor Vanuatu in 2006.
After retiring in 1996, Guy turned his relentless drive toward business and wellbeing. He built a successful fitness brand, launched retail product lines across major Australian department stores, and became the elite trainer sought out by global superstars—including Madonna, George Clooney, Layne Beachley, and Kerri Pottharst. He played a key role in five of Layne Beachley’s seven world title wins, reinforcing the high-performance principles that shaped his athletic career.
Since turning 60 in 2024, Guy has doubled down on his passion for longevity. Over the last decade, he’s become a powerful force in public health—setting four Guinness World Records through mass-participation fitness events that inspire community connection and raise vital funds for causes including The Melanoma Institute. His events have attracted thousands, including a core-strength class featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and record-breaking resistance band, boxing, and large-scale fitness circuits.
A defining moment in Guy’s life came in 2016, when his close friend and sports commentator Charles “Chucky” Stewart suffered a cardiac arrest at the end of a class. Despite immediate CPR, Chucky passed away three days later. Guy later learned a defibrillator could have given his friend a more than 70% chance of survival.
Determined to prevent this tragedy from happening to others, Guy founded Heart180 in 2017—now Australia’s No.1 defibrillator provider, supplying thousands of life-saving devices nationwide. Today, one Heart180 device saves a life every six weeks.
As a corporate speaker, Guy is in high demand for his engaging, energising, and highly practical sessions on longevity, motivation, health optimisation, and high performance. His bespoke team-building programs and wellness activations are designed to create real behavioural change, making him a trusted partner for leading organisations including Microsoft, Telstra, Intel, NAB, Singapore Airlines, and Commonwealth Bank.
Guy Leech’s mission is clear: to help every Australian live their longest, healthiest, and most energised life.
