Fabian Dattner is the founder and CEO of Dattner Group, a Leadership Consultancy that specialises in cultural transformation, executive development, senior leadership development and working with women. Fabian is well known to many Australians as an ethics commentator, leadership expert, advocate and activist for women in leadership. She has a lifetime interest in education, and in the importance of listening carefully to what people want from leaders and what they are willing to contribute in an engaged culture. Her willingness to challenge the existing leadership paradigm is well known.
Fabian has worked with hundreds of organisations and literally thousands of leaders. Her expertise comes from working over 36 years in entrepreneurial, government, not for profit and corporate sectors. Fabian is known for her visionary skill, strategic thinking ability, deep understanding of leadership, culture and what engages broad communities. She is an inspiring leader who helps other leaders understand that they are leading for the greater good.
She is a well-respected and well-known leadership media commentator on ethics in business, leadership in the modern world, women in leadership and creating enduring engagement and collaboration. She created Compass – a national initiative of a comprehensive suite of leadership programs and services unlocking courage in Women which is in its sixth year and she is also founder and CEO of Homeward Bound www.homewardboundprojects.com.au)– a global leadership initiative for women in STEMM where there have been four voyages to Antarctica so far with 80 participants in each group. The collective knowledge on the ship, coupled with Fabian’s thirty years of leadership expertise, is the melting pot for equipping participants for some of the most critical challenges they face in amplifying the role of women’s leadership globally. It is these critical lessons learned by all that Fabian shares with audiences.
Fabian has a considerable number of both commercial and community achievements to her credit. She has twice been a runner-up in the state Telstra Business Women’s Awards, and was recently a Victorian Finalist in 2019; she was also selected as one of the Financial Review 100 Women of Influence’ twice, in both 2015 and again last year and Stevie Award – Silver Award Winner for Women Helping Women – Business, 2019; she is an Australia Day Ambassador; has been cited by Australia’s premier business magazine The Bulletin as one of Australia’s top 100 contributors (late 90’s); regularly contributes to various media around Australia on leadership issues; and was a monthly guest on the ABC’s Nightlife program with Tony Delroy for many years. She has also penned three books on leadership and has been included in many others.
