About Emma Rossi:
Emma Rossi spent nearly two decades reporting for news and current affairs on national television, a job that took her overseas as a foreign correspondent, across Australia as a reporter, and into the lounge rooms across the world as a news presenter.
In 2011 she became the public face of the Federal Government’s telecommunications and media regulator. Emma was also a regular spokesperson for Children’s e-safety and security.
Emma has provided high-level strategic communications insight and media and issues management for the ACCC and the Australian Communications and Media Authority. Well regarded for her philanthropic pursuits mentoring and developing people, she has been an Australia Day Ambassador for NSW Premier and Cabinet since 2013 and was appointed the Ambassador to Alice Springs in 2016.
Emma has taken a national leadership role in improving the online safety for Australian women fleeing domestic violence. As a Board Director, she was instrumental in establishing Mary’s House, a refuge in Sydney’s lower North Shore for women and children.
Emma was co-organiser of non-denominational celebratory and fundraising dinner celebrating Saint Mary MacKilllop with guests included the Prime Minister, state premiers, business and humanitarian leaders.
With a Masters in Management degree, Emma is also an experienced company Director. She was appointed to the Board of Jesuit Communications, a national digital outreach program with extensive digital news serving nearly three quarters of a million Australians. For more than three years, Emma was Chair of the Ethica Accessories Board. This organisation empowers women through the provision of skills and materials, logistics and an outlet to sell their wares.
