Hailing from London, Dorinda comes from a family of doctors and healthcare workers. She trained and has worked as a registered nursing sister, obstetrics nurse, ophthalmic nurse, optician and even a model.

Dorinda is now more widely known as an international TV celebrity chef, actor, businesswoman, public speaker and MC. She is also a best-selling author with five TV series and eight books to her credit. Dorinda’s shows have reached over 40 countries and two have won awards. Two of her books have won international awards and two have been translated into Dutch and Portuguese.

Dorinda has received numerous awards including African Australian Woman of the Year, Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Leadership & Advocacy for African Women & their communities in SA, and in August 2012 she was awarded the title of Living Legend at the Sydney Opera House. At that time, then Prime Minister Julia Gillard named her as “A People of Australia Ambassador”.

For 10 years Dorinda was a weekly TV food presenter with Bert Newton on channel Ten’s Good Morning Australia.

Dorinda sits at tables with paupers and princes alike. Her popularity with most cultures is a credit to her outstanding communication skills. And if that were not enough for one lifetime – Dorinda is also a very popular marriage celebrant – “you are not really married until you are married by Dorinda!” Dorinda’s a one-off – she inspires, and infects people with her passion, energy and irreverent joie de vivre.
