Brian Nankervis

Brian Nankervis is a performer, writer and producer. He had previously taught primary school children for six years before fleeing the classroom to become a waiter at Melbourne’s legendary theatre restaurant The Last Laugh.
He became a writer and performer on the Channel 10 hospital soap opera Let The Blood Run Free and made regular appearances on Hey Hey It’s Saturday from 1986 as the tortured street poet Raymond J. Bartholomeuz.
He has since continued to perform his verse on TV, radio, with bands, in theatres, comedy venues and schools. “Raymond” has published a book of poems “Too many Crayfish Not Enough Brains”. His poems are hilarious, passionate, satirical and sometimes unexpectedly poignant. He writes about lost love, new love, broken hearts and spas. Politics, sport, religion and the baths. Lady Di, Bart Simpson, school bullies and Uncle Eric the dentist from hell.
Brian co-hosts The Friday Revue with Richelle Hunt on 774 ABC Melbourne and has been writing, producing and co-hosting the SBS music quiz show, ‘RocKwiz’. After 14 seasons, 117 episodes and countless tours around the nation, the television show turned stage show extravaganza RocKwiz is considered by many to be an Australian music institution.
Brian also does studio warm ups for television shows, contributes to The Age, and radio, including 774 ABC Melbourne and RRR.
He is an experienced speaker and MC for a wide variety of public events and corporate functions.
