Andrew ‘Barney’ Barnett

Andrew Barnett is best known as Barney to the audiences of Fox Sports, where is a resident funny man on Sunday Night with Matty Johns and The Back Page.
Along with James “The Professor Rochford”, Andrew cohosted The Night Watchmen (Fox Cricket), The Professor’s Late Hit (Fox League) and Narrow World of Sports (Fox League and Fox Footy). He wrote and performed on The Professor’s Farewell Tour and The Professor’s Second Year Syndrome.
Andrew has been performing as a stand up since 2010 when he was a NSW Finalist in Raw Comedy. Since then he has performed sold out shows at Comedy Clubs and Festivals across Australia and New Zealand. Andrew is a crowd favourite, whose relaxed style belies a razor sharp wit.
In 2013 Andrew was invited by Australian Rock icons the Hoodoo Gurus to host the Comedy Stage at the Sydney leg of their invitational music festival ‘Rip it Up’.
Andrew’s 2015 Sydney Fringe Festival Showcase described by The Daily Telegraph as a “knockout show”. Due to popular demand, Andrew’s 2015 Fringe Festival season was extended.
In 2015 Andrew won the comedy prize in the ANZ Blue Rooms Competition as part of the Sydney Morning Herald’s prestigious Spectrum Now Festival.
In 2016 Andrew was selected to be part of the FRESH program at the Sydney Comedy Festival, which highlights the best emerging comedians in the festival.
Andrew has a relaxed, affable style which belies a razor sharp wit. His comedy is filled with insightful observations and witty anecdotes. Andrew is sure to be a crowd favourite wherever he performs.
