The masterful host of the 2007 Logies awards, Adam Hills is one of Australia’s most talented and widely respected comedians.
His positive, energetic comedy and rampant spontaneity have won Adam Hills universal acclaim and rave reviews throughout Australia, Great Britain, Ireland and Europe.
Adam’s solo shows have become highlights of The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and The Melbourne Comedy Festival, receiving five-star reviews and sold-out houses. His 2001 show, Go You Big Red Fire Engine was nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award in Edinburgh, and went on to play at her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End. Adam has also appeared as a headline act at festivals in Adelaide, Montreal, Cape Town, Hong Kong and Kilkenny.
Australia best knows Adam as the host of the music quiz show Spicks and Specks on ABC TV, and from his exploits as host for the Logie Awards telecast. Adam has featured on countless television shows including The Stand Up Show (BBC1), Edinburgh Comedy (BBC2), and Live At Jongleur’s (UK Gold). In Australia he was a regular performer on Good News Week and the GNW Debates (TEN), and has been seen on Rove Live (TEN) and The Glass House (ABC). He has also hosted his own top-rating breakfast show on Austereo’s SA-FM, appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and is a regular guest on BBC Radio Scotland’s Fred MacAulay Show.
Adam is currently in demand as a top class headline act and one of the best MC’s in the business. In 2002 he released his first CD, Go You Big Red Fire Engine. A regular on the Comedy Channel as a team captain on Campaign, his other television appearances include Rove Live, The Fat, Good Morning Australia and The Glass House. In 2002 he also performed his solo show Happy Feet to sold out audiences at the Adelaide Fringe and The Melbourne Comedy Festival.
